We planned to do this hike because it was one of the very few remaining popular hikes in Arches National Park that neither of us had done. As it turns out, I *had* done it back in 2000, but didn't remember until just as we were approaching the top of the trail. How I could ever have forgotten being there, I have no idea, except that it was one of many hikes I did that day.
Once we got to the top, we noticed that there was a wedding going on up there! The bride and groom were all dressed up, and they had a professional photographer, and a park warden there to make sure people stayed safe, I guess.
Last time I was here, I remembered some "crazy" people had gone over to the buttress on the other side of the arch. So I decided I had better go over there and check it out. Cathy insisted on asking the warden if it was okay, and she said sure, just try to stay off the cryptobiotic crust, which I would have done anyway.
