We had long ago decided that we'd like to stop at Goblin Valley State Park on our way from Boulder, UT to Moab. I can't remember why, now, but we almost decided at the last minute to pass it by. I'm glad we didn't! It's a really neat place, and if you're ever in the area it's worth checking out. The hiking is basically flat as a pancake, and you walk amongst these rock (mud, actually) formations that look vaguely like goblins. At the back of the valley you can climb up into the goblin "castles" and get a neat view over the whole valley, just about.
First, though, we did a hike called Molly's Castle Overlook, which had no goblins on it, but was still quite enjoyable.
